Peter Ambrose

Director (DipPFS)

Peter works closely with a small number of accountants and solicitors offering trusted financial advisory services to both corporate and private individuals. As a result, Peter is a lead director for a number of corporate pension schemes as well as providing the full range of financial advisory services to a portfolio of wealth management clients.

Tim Yates

Director (DipPFS)

Tim is a fully qualified adviser and, in addition, he holds the G60 qualification and the Investment Management Certificate; the qualification required for investment fund managers. Tim specialises in working with high net worth clients, business owners and accountancy partners. He lives in St Albans with his family and is a keen tennis player and golfer.

Roger Davis

Director (DipPFS)

Roger is a fully qualified financial adviser and advises high net worth clients in the areas of individual and family financial planning. Roger also advises a number of Avidity’s business owners and corporate clients assisting with their financial planning and employee benefit offerings. Roger has been threatening to restart his rugby career for some time now but age seems to have got the better of him.

Rob Clark

Senior Financial Planner (DipPFS)

Rob joined Avidity in 2010 when we opened the new offices in St Albans. Rob specialises in pension and investments and really enjoys the technical intricacies that they bring. Rob runs his own client bank of high net worth individuals, where he manages their financial planning and provides advice on pension accumulation, retirement options, investments, estate planning and tax planning requirements.

Rob also heads up our Auto-Enrolment team, helping employers through the demands of the legislation to meet the requirements whist offering a competitive pension solution going forward.

Away from the office Rob will be found on the golf course (even in the rain) and during the summer months out on a cricket pitch, tantalising batsmen with his medium pace away swing.

James Chamberlain

Senior Financial Planner (DipPFS)

James specialises in working with high-net-worth individuals, business owners and partners of accountancy and solicitor firms. He enjoys advising his varied client bank on the full range of financial planning matters, taking particular pride in setting out financial objectives and seeing them through to completion. James graduated from Durham University in 2014 with a degree in Natural Sciences and Economics. Outside of the office, James is a keen golfer and cricketer – although he would be the first to admit that he is now past his peak.

Oliver Sawyer

Chartered Financial Planner (APFS)

Oliver is a chartered financial planner enabling him to provide technical and highly effective financial advice to his clients. Oliver manages both individual and corporate clients specialising in investments, individual pensions, final salary pensions, retirement planning, tax planning, long-term care and protection policies. Out of the office, Oliver is an keen cricketer and footballer. Oliver graduated from Bournemouth University with a first-class honours in Finance and Economics.

Oliver joined Avidity Wealth Management as a financial planner in 2019.

Robert Ambrose

Financial Planner (DipPFS)

Robert looks after a variety private and corporate clients, with particular focus on investments, pensions, tax planning and protection. Robert aims to provide each of his clients with easy to understand yet highly tailored and effective advice. Having completed the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning Robert has taken up a financial planner role with Avidity since 2019.

Away from the office, Robert will most likely be found on the golf course.

Eamonn Free

Eamonn Free

Financial Planner (DipPFS)

Eamonn has an extensive background in personal & corporate finance. He has advised individuals, start-up businesses and SMEs on their investment, protection and pension requirements. Initially working as a Senior Consultant for several of the UK’s leading insurance providers, Eamonn joined Avidity as an Adviser in 2009. He is a member of the Personal Finance Society and has achieved examination qualifications to Diploma level.

John Llewellyn-Jones

Financial Planner (DipPFS, ACA)

John joined Avidity Wealth Management in October 2014 after spending 12 years in the retail banking industry including 5 years as Chief Financial Officer of HSBC UK between 2008 and 2012.  John is a Chartered Accountant, and holds both the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and the AF3 Pension Planning qualification which enables him to advise on all types of pension transfers and lifetime allowance planning issues.  John also specialises in investments and tax planning.  John lives locally in St Albans with his family, and enjoys a bit of sailing, golf, tennis, hiking and running. 

Patrick Montgomery


Patrick joined Avidity in May 2021, and has since joined the Quilter Adviser School. Patrick graduated from Newcastle University in 2018 with a degree with Economics and Business Management.

Jane Yates

Finance Manager

Jane joined Avidity in 2010 (having worked as a corporate tax advisor with PwC). Jane is part of our “back office” team and enjoys supporting the ever growing team of advisors, paraplanners and administrators at our offices in St Albans. She looks after finance and accounting matters for the company together with HR and company secretarial.

Lesley Bywater

Office Manager

Lesley has been a member of the Avidity team for 15 years. Responsibilities include the day to day management and running of the office, as well as paraplanning for Director, Peter Ambrose. Lesley’s daily work schedule is very varied, and she enjoys the challenge of getting involved with developmental projects.

Matthew Bond


Matthew joined Avidity in September 2018. He supports the team as a Paraplanner and is studying for the CII Certificate in Paraplanning as part of the apprenticeship training programme.

Will Grover


Will joined Avidity in January 2019. He supports the team as a Paraplanner having completed the CII’s Certificate in Paraplanning. Away from the office Will enjoys playing golf and a bit of cycling.

Tahmid Choudhury


Tahmid joined Avidity in May 2021 and is studying for the CII Certificate in Paraplanning as part of the apprenticeship training programme.

Leo Broom


Leo joined Avidity in February 2022, and has been supporting the team as a paraplanner. Leo graduated from the University of York in 2021 with a degree in Chemistry; he is currently studying for the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. An avid tennis player with a heavy-topspin forehand, he can be found out on a court outside of office hours.

Matthew Haycock


Matthew joined Avidity in April 2022, and is studying for the CII Certificate in Paraplanning as part of the apprenticeship training programme.

Lisa El Helou

Administration Support

Lisa joined Avidity Wealth Management, St Albans in June 2014 after working for IBM. Lisa’s time is split between the extended administration team along with supporting Paraplanning duties.

Transferring out of a Final Salary scheme is unlikely to be in the best interests of most people.
